About ME
I was born and raised in the province of Bulacan. After I graduated from grade school my parents separated and my siblings and I were shipped off to my grandmother’s in Makati. I was transferred from a Catholic private school (Holy Spirit Academy of Malolos) to a Catholic oriented private school known to be a school for delinquents (can’t name it here). It was then that I experienced what I would later come to know as “culture shock”. There were brawls practically everyday and I found out the hard way why I should keep an eye on my belongings.
After a year, I transferred to another private school (St. Mary’s Academy Pasay) where I stayed until I finished high school. I kept mostly to myself during high school even though I had several friends. My fondest memories in that school was training as a CAT officer. It was really exhausting but overall, I had fun.
After high school, my aunt convinced me to go to UP even though my mother wants me in UST. I took up BS Computer Science for two years before fate decided I wasn’t meant to be a programmer. I bounced around in college for another two years thinking of what course to pick. I wanted to take Education but I kept getting told that teaching would get me nowhere. Finally I decided to take the shotgun method and applied in a couple of courses. I got accepted in Journalism and Public Administration. My mother told me to take Journalism (she was a Masscom major in UST) and I decided to follow her advice this time.
I wouldn’t call myself a real writer since I don’t really have much experience in writing anything worthwhile, especially during my two years in Computer Science. What I would call myself is a thinker. Yes, that’s assuming but seriously, I think a lot about a lot of things. My problem is translating these thoughts into words other people would appreciate. My opinions somehow always gets me in trouble. Maybe one day it’s gonna get me killed.. but let’s not dwell on that..
